Toys

A toy said to another in the dark
“You still in the box?”
“Oh, yes. I am. You?”
“Me too.”

And it was nice to hear.
Nothing sadder than a toy alone.
No growing up
No staying young.

Only a neverending tie,
a melancholic string you won’t
just
cut off.

No way out

 

You’re pressed.
There is no way out.
You can feel pressure in your mouth.
Every muscle is clenched, cramping.

You miss freedom.
Your spirit is grounded.
Your life is forfeit.
There is no way out.

You’re tired.
Give in.

And yet, you can’t.
Your chest aches, you sweat.
Tired. so, so tired.
Your hands grab your hair.
Pain.
So much pain, inside and out.
You need a way out.
But there is no way out.

You constipated again?

Have you ever been in a gathering of poets?

Oh no, not just any poets, published and selling poets. For anyone who writes a poem can be named a poet, can they not?

Chernobyl

After the recent events at the Fukushima Daiichi power plants, I remembered an old poem I had written, when I had studied the Chernobyl incident. It only seemed appropriate to re-upload it here. I wish the best to all the people of Japan, and hope for the current situation to never turn into something like this.

Το αποψινό πρόγραμμα ξεκινά τη νέα σελίδα και κατηγορία του ιστολογίου, που αφορά διάφορες γλωσσικές εκφράσεις απ’ όλη την υφήλιο. Πρώτη βάζω μια ιστορία πραγματικά μακάβρια, αλλά με μάλλον κωμικοτραγικές συνέπειες.

Waves crashed upon the endless abyss below you. Fire licked your back, singing your hair, and burning into your clothes.

Statue of Unknown Prostitute

_What on earth is that?
Is it a memorial?
A temple to the smaller gods?
Perhaps a tomb?

_It is the statue of the unknown prostitute
It is built here, at the side of the road
At honour of these women, no
Those men and women

That fell onto the battlefield of sweat and semen
Wanting or not
They were, they are, they will be
The angels of the paths to hell

And yet, sublime and pure
Bathed into spit from a thousand passerbys
Cleansing the world of sins otherwise compressed to living rooms
And hidden behind tall walls

For Magda, for Yulia, for young Franzesca
For all the little forms, in mini skirts and shorts
Just standing in the snow
And waiting for their breathing blanket

Red onto white, as corset onto skin
Eyes dim, weary, alive for longer than humanity itself
True greatness, these small women have achieved
Accepting into them the vomit of the worlds

Robot Unicorn Attack (Dreams come true?)

Ασήμαντες λεπτομέρειες, γελοία παχνίδια, απλές εικόνες, μουσική χωρίς φαντασία… Ή μήπως όχι; Ακόμα και το πιο απλό πράγμα, μπόρει να κρύβει πίσω του ένα θαυμάσιο μηχανισμό. Σε αυτή τη σειρά ποστ, θα εξετάσω διάφορα δημοφιλή παιχνίδια, μουσική, καθώς και ταινίες, και θα προσπαθήσω να προσδιορίσω τι είναι αυτό που τα κάνει πιο δημοφιλή από άλλα.
